TAMIL NADU

We’ve been working in Tamil Nadu since 2018, in partnership with the state government and the Samagra Shiksha (the centrally sponsored integrated scheme for school education). During COVID-19, we provided support to teachers and district officials across 13 districts with a range of online activities.

In August 2022, we were pleased to sign a new memorandum of understanding for our work in the state until 2026. The state has recently established a new Project Management Unit (PMU) to deliver its mission and vision for Teacher Professional Development across the state. In this MOU, we commit to support this PMU as a knowledge, implementation and management partner.

Working across the 38 states, we work to support teacher professional development through the identification and promotion of best practices. The “Pulari Muttram” Program has been introduced, featuring a monthly Headmasters’ Peer Learning Circle held on the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month, promoting collaborative problem-solving. Additionally, bi-monthly Teachers’ Peer Learning Circles (PLCs) have been established to foster skill development and provide a supportive environment for educators. These initiatives aim to strengthen teaching methods and enhance professional growth across the state.

We have recently completed our first consultancy service in Chennai school- Read report
