If you’re a teacher, you’ve probably felt this before.
The lesson plan is never on time. There’s a long list of tasks—recording student marks, correcting homework and test papers, and preparing for the next class. Registers need filling, reports must be handed in, and meetings come one after another. At the end of the day, teachers carry it all quietly. They do it because they have to. Yet beneath their steady effort, their motivation to teach grows faint, like a light flickering under constant pressure.
Having walked alongside Indian teachers for over a decade, we know one thing for sure: teachers are never short on dedication. What they lack is time, trust, and the kind of support that truly matters. We believe teaching shouldn’t feel like a daily struggle to get by. Our goal is to replace that pressure with what truly fuels a teacher’s passion — motivation.

Who we are
We are the Centre for Intrinsic Motivation (CIM), a joint initiative of Development Consortium, a dynamic, women-led non-profit organisation committed to empowering youth. and Schools & Teachers Innovating for Results (India) – known for rekindling teacher agency at scale. Since 2014, we’ve worked inside Indian education systems. We’ve partnered with governments, teachers, and officials to quietly but fundamentally change how classrooms feel.
Our work reaches 2 lakh + lakh teachers, 4000+ government officials, and over 60 Lakh + children across Delhi, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. But numbers aren’t the whole story. The real story is in every teacher who rediscovers why they chose this profession, and every child who walks into a classroom eager to learn.

Our Approach
We take a comprehensive approach to education reform. Our model is not a quick fix; it’s a blueprint for change that has been fine-tuned over a decade of learning. We tackle the problem from three sides:
